What will you do
Café de Sigaar is a cosy café in the heart of Groningen where hospitality, atmosphere, and quality come together. Our team ensures that every guest feels welcome and enjoys a great experience from the moment they walk in to long after they leave.
As an intern in the Food & Beverage department at Café de Sigaar, you will actively participate in daily hospitality operations. You will contribute to an excellent guest experience and learn the various aspects of service, bar work, and hospitality management.
You are eager to learn, service-oriented, and attentive to detail. With your positive attitude and dedication, you help ensure that guests have an unforgettable experience, from arrival to farewell. You will also have the opportunity to take initiative, share ideas, and contribute to improvements in service, efficiency, and guest experience.
Tasks and learning goals include:
- Welcoming and serving guests in a warm and professional manner
- Taking and serving orders
- Advising guests on dishes and beverages
- Assisting with service preparation (mise-en-place)
- Supporting bar activities and events
- Contributing to a clean, presentable, and hospitable work environment
Profile
- You are enrolled in a relevant MBO or HBO program in hospitality, tourism, or hotel management
- You are guest-oriented, presentable, and communicative
- You can work well both independently and as part of a team
- You are flexible and willing to work evenings and weekends
- You have an affinity with gastronomy and hospitality
